Since the mid 1990's, Reltex has been a leading supplier of relief materials to the humanitarian sector. Using first class plastics technologies, the company has been a long-term provider of shelter and relief assistance to refugees all over the World.

In times of crisis, Reltex has helped millions of people. Much of this assistance has been provided in Africa and Reltex, in a ground breaking new initiative, is proud to announce the opening of a state of the art plastics factory in Athi River, just outside Nairobi.

Our US$10 million facility, employing 190 people, is the most advanced of its kind in the World and will provide significant benefits to its stakeholders. Together with our existing production facilities in Asia, and in response to our global customers needs, the new facility allows the group to:

  • Provide unrivalled capacity globally
  • Provide much shorter delivery times to point of need
  • Provide a more environmentally friendly supply chain
  • Provide employment where it is most needed

The setting up of this African facility has benefited from significant input from Advance Aid, as part of its initiative to create jobs in Africa through local manufacturing and procurement of humanitarian relief materials. Advance Aid’s mission is to change the model for humanitarian relief in Africa and create wider and sustainable economic benefits for the peoples of sub-Saharan Africa. In their words 'Don't donate. Invest'.
