Tribal clashes and armed conflict in Southern Sudan have led to the destruction of homes and the displacement of thousands of Sudanese.  Reltex Africa is ideally situated to supply emergency shelter to the Sudan and is in the process of shipping out tarpaulins on behalf of the various aid agencies working there.

The Reltex Africa factory was visited today by the Kenyan Trade Minister, who was delighted to hear that Reltex Africa was the first to respond to the flood disaster in Pakistan. Chairman, Simon Lucas, was also interviewed by Kenyan State TV.

Severe flooding in Pakistan has left millions of people in need of shelter. Reltex has received orders to date for 600,000 tarpaulins to be delivered to Pakistan. Both our African and Chinese factories are working round the clock to get the supplies to the aid agencies as quickly as possible.

Reltex is proud to announce the opening of a state of the art plastics factory in Athi River, just outside Nairobi. This US$10 million facility will employ 300 local people and is the most advanced of its kind in the World.

  • February 11th, 2010

A devastating earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck Haiti on 12 January 2010, killing thousands and affecting many more. Reltex Relief has to date supplied in excess of 660,000 tarpaulins to the various aid agencies supporting the victims of the earthquake. Aid is still being shipped to Haiti and Reltex is in the process of shipping out a further 65,000 tarpaulins.

  • May 02nd, 2008

On 2 May 2008, the devastating Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar, also known as Burma. The force of the cyclone devastated the low-lying Irrawaddy Delta region and surrounding areas, leaving as many as 133,000 people dead and some two million homeless. Reltex has shipped over 350,000 tarpaulins on behalf of the various aid agencies working in Myanmar.
