Environmental Statement

Maintaining a clean environment and conserving our natural resources has always been a concern of Reltex affiliates worldwide, and the issue is extremely high on our company's agenda. We, and those whom we serve, all deserve to have clean air and water and share in this bounty for generations to come. To that end, we endeavour to use cleaner fuels resulting in a reduction of harmful emissions and utilise less toxic chemicals and cleaning agents. We maintain non-smoking environments in all of our facilities and encourage our workers and staff to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

We are also investigating producing our products closer to their end markets, which will significantly reduce the transportation distances for our goods. Wherever possible, we try to recycle our refuse and utilise recyclable materials. We have also endeavoured to reduce business travel to a very minimum through the utilisation of video conferencing and placing an emphasis on electronic mail and data transfer.

With the opening of our African factory, we are able to significantly reduce our carbon footprint when supplying goods to the African continent. A recent report by Dr David Taylor from the Cardiff University Business School highlighted the environmental impact of the provision of tarpaulins to Africa. Local manufacture of tarpaulins clearly has a massive environmental advantage over bringing them into Africa by air. Please see the findings displayed in the graph below*.
